The 4th "Language Teaching Aids Fun Day" organised by the Department of Early Childhood Education, concluded successfully on December 9, 2025. Nearly a hundred student-designed teaching aids with the theme of language from the Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education Year 1 students were showcased. Two associate heads of department, Prof Alfredo Bautista and Dr Pauline Chan, Ms Karen Yeung, Principal of Early Childhood Learning Centre (ECLC), The Education University of Hong Kong, Mr Edward Chan, Founder of Hong Kong Boardgame Education Academy, and Ms. Renita Kong, Founder of Hong Kong Teaching Aid, attended the event and showcased their support to all participating students.
In this event, students eagerly shared their creative ideas, fostering discussions and exchange with the guests. Additionally, students from the ECLC were also invited to participate and to try out different teaching aids, enhancing the event's interactivity and enjoyment.
This event is expected to boost higher diploma students’ interest in designing teaching aids, and to provide them with practical experience in conducting language games. The department is also committed to nurtures future educators to make a positive impact on the education and development of young children while being well-prepared for the challenges and joys of teaching.
