Overview:
This workshop aims to provide participants with an overview of current industry trends and professional development opportunities in the banking industry in Hong Kong. The seminar also introduces the role of The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and the Institute’s support in terms of capacity building and talent development for the banking industry. This workshop equips participants with guidance on Banking Professional Qualifications Programmes. The workshop also features bankers sharing their practitioners’ insight into the banking industry regarding the professional development pathways.
Speakers’ Introduction:
The workshop is delivered by the representative from the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB), and two speakers from the banking industry with Certified Banker (or Affiliate) certifications.

Dr Kate Kwan is currently leading Programme Engagement & Strategic Partnership at Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB). Dr Kwan had work experience in different banks in Hong Kong, including JP Morgan, Societe Generale, HSBC, Citigroup, and Banco Santander. In 2023, she was awarded by Yazhou Zhoukan (亞洲週刊) with the “Global Outstanding Young Leaders Award”. |

Ms Wong is the Top Candidate Award for Certified Banker (CB) module in Cross-boundary Banking Strategy and Management 2024. She is an accomplished compliance professional with over 17 years of experience across Hong Kong's leading financial institutions. Currently, she works as Compliance Manager at Orix Asia Limited. Her distinguished career spans major banks including JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, HSBC, and regional institutions, specializing in anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance, and cross-border banking operations.

Mr Young is a Certified Banker in HKIB, being an accomplished governance and finance professional with over 20 years of experience in company secretarial, compliance and finance roles for Hong Kong listed companies. Currently, he serves as Project Manager, specializing in Hong Kong Listing Rules compliance, complex corporate transactions and board governance.
