Dr Isabella Ng Talks Diversity and Inclusion in an exclusive walled village with RTHK
Dr Isabella NG Fung-sheung, Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies was recently interviewed by RTHK to discuss the cultural diversity in an indigenous village of Wang Toi Shan. Dr Ng witnesses how diversity and inclusion of different ethnic groups could happen in an exclusive village and such a village could become a multi-ethnic cluster.

Dr Ng also published an article entitled “Just Around the Corner: How Cross-ethnic Solidarity Is Established Between Locals and the Asylum-Seekers and Refugees in a Local NGO” in the Journal of International Migration and Integration. The research studied how the collaborative efforts of an NGO founded by a group of Hong Kong students, an academic, and asylum-seekers and refugees from South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa overcame barriers to establish a network to foster cross-ethnic solidarity within the community.
