Programme Introduction
The Master of Science in Business Analytics and FinTech [MSc(BAFT)] programme is established in direct response to the profound transformation of the global financial services industry and business landscape, driven by digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and big data. The Programme offers two streams: Business Analytics and FinTech.
The programme is strategically designed to cultivate a new generation of strategic talents and practitioners who possess an integrated mastery of FinTech applications such as blockchain, digital payments, algorithmic trading, and Regulatory Technology (RegTech), alongside advanced business analytics capabilities like data mining, machine learning, data visualisation, and predictive modelling.
The programme is built upon the philosophy of “Data-Driven Finance and Business in the Digital Era”, ensuring that core financial principles are systematically interwoven with cutting-edge knowledge in Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data analytics, blockchain technology, and regulatory technology.
Graduates will be equipped to analyse how digital innovation reshapes financial markets, business models, and regulatory frameworks; to design and implement data-driven financial products and business strategies; and to navigate the complex ethical and regulatory challenges of the digital finance era.
Grounded in a commitment to ethical responsibility and innovative thinking, the programme prepares graduates to become leaders and informed decision-makers capable of driving sustainable and inclusive digital transformation.

Programme Aims
The aims of the programme include:

This foundation enables students to critically decode and apply the logic of digital value creation and capture in complex financial and business contexts.
- To develop advanced analytical capabilities that enable students to leverage AI and data-driven techniques for financial forecasting, risk assessment, strategic decision-making, and product innovation, while critically evaluating the economic, ethical, and societal impacts of FinTech innovations.
- To foster strategic, ethical, and regulatory thinking for designing, evaluating, and implementing effective FinTech solutions and business models that address complex challenges posed by digital transformation, algorithmic bias, data privacy, financial compliance, and governance in Hong Kong, China, the Greater Bay Area, and beyond.
- To cultivate leaders and innovators who can exercise accountability and contribute significantly to the development of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable digital financial ecosystems, with a keen understanding of both the opportunities presented by AI and business analytics and the regulatory frameworks needed to harness them responsibly.
