Olga Sazhina is PhD Candidate at the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), where she has been assigned to the research centre – Centre for Greater China Studies. Before joining EdUHK she was working as a correspondent and continued her path in marketing, logistics and banking. Simultaneously, Olga attended Graduate School courses for PhD students at Lomonosov Moscow State University from 2010 to 2013 and annually presented at the International scientific conferences of students, graduate students and young scientists in Moscow from 2011 till today. Her research and teaching interests focus on comparative studies, social policy, comparative public policy across Russia and Asia.
Her first publications/conference presentations are mainly focused on decision-making and management discourse smoothly rolling to the areas of social dialogue and comparative public policy in Russia and China. Her publications include social protection for the near poor, poverty prevention and social practices on poverty reduction in Russia and China.
Olga Sazhina serves as a teaching assistant/tutor at the Department of Asian and Policy Studies for the course Comparative Social Policy in Asia (BA). She was awarded the Research Postgraduate Studentship (RPGS) for her study at the EdUHK, she also was a recipient of the Outbound Learning Scholarship 2017/18 provided by the FLASS for her study visit to the University of Houston, Political Science department during the fall of 2018. She has served as Research Assistant at the APS and IELL departments of EdUHK.
Born in the USSR, Olga Sazhina graduated from one of the top Russian universities, Lomonosov Moscow State University, when she received her degree in 2010 and finished Graduate School courses in 2013. She holds Russian citizenship.
