
Ms GUAN Shaoling

Shaoling is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), where she has been assigned to the research centre – Centre for Greater China Studies. Before joining EdUHK she was working as an education project manager at various international organizations and continued her path in education, marketing and business development, and as a lecturer for Business Communication course at an international institution from 2015, which is the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Shaoling gained two master degrees including the school of Governance in Sun Yat-sen University in PRC with the topic of the research thesis on non-governmental organization (NGO) in mainland China; and the second master’s degree was obtained from the Institute of Education (IOE) at the University College London (UCL) in the UK, in the field of Education, Gender and International Development. Her research and teaching interests focus on non-governmental development, business communication, social policy, and accountancy profession.
Shaoling serves as a teaching assistant at the Department of Asian and Policy Studies for the course Comparative Social Policy in Greater China and Asia (Master). She was awarded the Research Postgraduate Studentship (RPGS) for her study at the EdUHK. She has served as Research Assistant at the APS.
Born in mainland China, Shaoling succeeded with the quota-based Quality Migrant Admission Scheme in 2016, offered by the Hong Kong SAR Government to attract highly skilled or talented persons to settle in Hong Kong in order to enhance Hong Kong’s economic competitiveness.
