Professor Leung Chi-hung, Associate Professor at the Department of Special Education and Counselling, received a silver medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (10-14 March 2021) for his project titled "Drug-Related Attentional Bias in Drug Abusers and Rehabilitated Drug Abusers". The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is one of the most important knowledge and technology transfer events in the world devoted exclusively to inventions.
Professor Leung's project integrates eye-tracking technology and assessments to measure implicit attentional bias in (rehabilitated) drug abusers. The measurement combined implicit measures (Colour Stroop Task, Implicit Association Task, Dot Probe Task) with eye-tracking. Different from the traditional paper-based evaluation, this is the first project in Hong Kong using computerized implicit psychological tasks to assess drug abuse and abuse rehabilitation progress.
