Dr. Lorinda Kwan spoke in the first webinar of the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists on telepractice in speech therapy on 27th March, 2020. Sharing from her experience since 2016, together with students of the MScESLPLD programme, in serving 120 patients with neurogenic speech and language disorders for 700 hours, Dr. Kwan encouraged the attendees the use of evidence-based teletherapy to overcome the physical, medical and psychosocial barriers to deliver speech therapy to people who were otherwise unable to access adequate rehabilitation. The webinar was attended by more than 250 practicing speech therapists of Hong Kong who are looking for innovative service delivery model, such as tele-practice, to conduct speech therapy during the coronavirus pandemic.
