36-hour theoretical and practical training workshop to social workers on how to work with teenagers with ASD, with special emphasis on evidence-based pedagogy including PEERS® and Social Thinking®. The training is delivered by Ms. Michelle Leung, registered social worker, and Ms. Zandra Mok, registered Speech Therapist and Centre Manager of I-WELL.
Enhance social workers’ understanding of the strengths, weaknesses and challenges faced by students with ASD;
Facilitate social workers to use evidence-based intervention approaches in group sessions to enhance social attention, social interpretation and responsiveness of students with ASD;
Hands-on demonstration, role play and group practice and debriefing.
