Presentation Title:
"Searching for Multiple Selves: Digital Trans-literacies, Identity, and Linguistic Inclusivity in Education"
Abstract:
This plenary examines how digital translanguaging—the fluid use of multiple languages and semiotic resources—shapes youth identity expression and well-being. Drawing on two studies, it explores how translanguaging fosters identity exploration and enhances life satisfaction, while also challenging self-concept clarity. The concept of digital trans-literacies is introduced, reframing digital competencies as dynamic and culturally embedded.
