Generative Artificial Intelligence and Education
On June 11, Dr Lucas Kohnke gave an invited lecture on ‘Generative Artificial Intelligence and Education’ at the University of Southern Mindanao – Kidapawan City Campus.
The session focused on realistic, sustainable ways to integrate AI into courses and programmes, while keeping teaching firmly human-centred. Drawing on Dr Kohnke’s microlearning principles, the talk explored how instructors can use AI in four roles — generator, character, critic, and co-writer — while ensuring that students remain the key decision-makers.
This is another great example of ELE’s outreach in the region, helping educators reflect on how, why, and with what purpose AI can be meaningfully integrated into education.
