梁宝华教授现任香港教育大学文化与创意艺术学系教授,并为粤剧承传研究中心总监。他致力将粤剧纳入正规音乐课程而获奖,其领导的研究计划「中小学粤剧教学协作计划」,先后于2011年获由联合国教科文组织成立的国际音乐理事会颁发的音乐权益奖及2012年获教院颁发知识转移奖。任职教院期间,梁教授编着了一套教材《学校音乐创作教材套》及一系列适合本港学校需要的音乐教科书。

梁教授曾于多份国际知名学术期刊和学术书籍发表论文,包括:《International Journal of Music Education》、《Research Studies in Music Education》、《Music Education Research》、《Pedagogy, Culture & Society》、《International Journal of Community Music》、《Arts Education Policy Review》及《the Oxford Handbook of Music Education》。梁教授出版的《音乐创作教学:新世纪音乐教育新趋势》(卓思,2005),更是本港首部关于音乐创意教学的书刊。北京人民音乐出版社亦邀请梁教授出版一个更新版本以回应内地音乐课程改革(人民音乐出版社,2014)。梁教授亦曾出版一本题为《Creative Arts in Education and Culture: Perspectives from Greater China》的书刊(Springer, 2013),展示大中华地区的艺术教育和文化发展 ; 另一本着作是《Traditional Musics in the Modern World: Transmission, Evolution and Challenges》(Springer, 2018), 剖析传统音乐在现代的国际情况和传承挑战。梁教授亦曾出板有关粤剧的三部专着。

梁教授现任国际音乐教育学会候任主席、亚太音乐教育研究论坛主席、东北师范大学、广州大学及华南师范大学客座教授、中国音乐家协会会员、《亚太艺术教育学报》总编辑、香港学术及职业资歷评审局教育及演艺学科专家、民政事务局港台文化合作委员会委员、香港艺术发展局艺术资讯中心顾问、音乐事务处专业顾问、香港演艺学院中国戏曲学院顾问,与及大埔艺术中心管理委员会委员。梁教授曾任国际音乐教育学会三届理事及在其辖下的学校音乐及教师教育委员会和研究委员会主席,香港音乐教育家协会创会主席 , 及《国际音乐教育学报》联席主编。梁教授于2011, 2014及2019年分別获得研究资助局的优配研究金,并于2009及2021年获优质教育基金拨款资助其有关粤剧的研究。梁教授先后获香港中文大学文学士(音乐)及教育文凭、香港浸会大学文学硕士及澳洲新南威尔士大学哲学博士学位。
