Knowledge Transfer

The impact of the project includes:

  • deeper understanding of trilingual education in China and strong models that support additive trilingualism
  • the productioon of a range of books, chapters and journal articles
  • dissemination of research findings through international conferences, regional meetings, invited speeches and annual symposia
  • the formation of a nationwide network of researchers
  • the establishment of the Chinese Society for Multilingualism and Multilingual Education under the auspices of the International Assocation for Multilingual Education
  • the development of teacher professional development programmes in multilingual education around the country, with more than 2000 teachers being trained by the end of 2017
  • curriculum reform in a number of universities to embrace multlingualism
  • the recruitment of 40 master's students and 5 doctoral students
  • the sharing of the research design and rubrics with other researchers through a series of Technical Papers
  • various awards, such as the Knowledge Transfer Grant Award 2015-16 by The Education University of Hong Kong
  • the appointment of research team members to Honorary Professorships in a number of universities in China
