8th International Symposium on Trilingualism and Trilingual Education in China

& 2016 Annual Conference, Xi’an

The 8th International Symposium on Trilingualism and Trilingual Education in China & 2016 Annual Conference was co-hosted by School of Foreign Languages, Shaanxi Normal University and the Research Center for EFL Education, Shaanxi Normal University from 11th June to 12th June 2016, in Xi’an. The participants of the symposium included more than 40 experts from Britain, South Korean, China, and 50 other teacher researchers and potential postgraduate and undergraduate student researchers from Shaanxi Normal University and the Research Center for EFL Research Center.

The symposium mainly focused upon such themes as theories and practices of trilingual education in China, trilingual teacher education and teacher training, the development and implementation of trilingual education, third language acquisition, and research projects relevant to trilingualism and trilingual education in China. 23 keynote speakers presented and shared their research in this regard.

A board meeting was held in the evening of 12th June. Professor Feng Zhiwen from Yunnan Normal University and Professor Zeng Li from Guizhou Minzu University were admitted as vice-chairmen of the CSMME.
