Workshop on Innovative Interventions and Experimental Designs
You are cordially invited to attend the workshop entitled "Workshop on Innovative Interventions and Experimental Designs" on 2 February 2026 (Monday). The information about the workshop is shown below:
| Date: | 2 February 2026 (Monday) |
| Time: | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm |
| Venue: | D3-LP-13 |
| Topic: | Workshop on Innovative Interventions and Experimental Designs |
| Speaker: | Professor CHOU Kee-lee (Chair Professor of Social Policy, Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies) |
| Abstract: | Over the past five years, I have employed a range of innovative and sophisticated research methodologies to investigate some innovative interventions aimed at reducing loneliness among older adults and supporting caregivers of individuals with dementia. These approaches include advanced experimental designs such as dual randomized controlled trials, selective prevention trials, the Multiphase Optimization Strategy (MOST) for optimizing multi-component interventions, the Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART) for developing multi-stage adaptive interventions, and Micro-Randomized Trials (MRT) for evaluating Just-in-Time Adaptive Interventions (JITAI). Additionally, I have explored hybrid designs that integrate elements of RCTs, SMART, and MRT to enhance flexibility and precision. Since 2021, I have successfully secured funding through one Collaboration Research Fund (CRF), one General Research Fund (GRF), and three Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) grants by utilizing innovative interventions and experimental designs. This workshop aims to provide a concise overview of these innovative research designs, illustrating their application through my own studies and proposals. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how these interventions and methodologies might be adapted and applied to address diverse research questions within your area of investigation. |
