Timeline for Graduation Process

During the declaration period from mid-April to mid-May:

Taught-Postgraduate (TPg) students will receive an email from their respective Programme Office about a one-time arrangement to declare their graduation date (GD) through "The Portal". The available options for GD declaration will depend on the programme end date: either 31 July/31 October or 31 August/31 October. For undergraduate students, graduation date (GD) will depend on the programme end date. Students can seek guidance from their Programme Office if needed. Once the GD is declared and recorded, it cannot be changed.

Around late May:

Final-year students will receive email from the Registry and find related message posted on "The Portal" for the issuing schedule of the Statement of Results (SoR) if these channels used by the Registry in the past years are also used this year. The SoR will be sent to students by post at no charge in the scheduled period. The SoR can be used to apply for the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG) Visa and work in Hong Kong under the IANG scheme. For more details about Statement of Results, Award Certificates and Transcripts, please visit the websites below from time to time:

In June:

The "Grade Release Schedule" can be accessed on the Registry's website (https://www.eduhk.hk/re/Current-Students/Examination/Grade-Release-Schedule.html). If required, students can apply for a transcript of their studies, with each document costing HKD$50 and taking approximately 7 working days for issuance.

In July:

Students should anticipate the arrival of the SoR. They can use the SoR to apply for the IANG and work in Hong Kong under the IANG scheme as necessary. If students have not received the SoR by the specified period mentioned in the intranet message and email of the Registry, they should contact the Registry.

From August to December:

For information on the collection of the Award Certificate, please refer to the Registry's website: https://www.eduhk.hk/re/Graduates/Award-Certificates-1/For-Doctor-Of-Philosophy-Doctor-Of-Education-Master-Of-Philosophy-And-Taught-Master-Degrees-Programmes.html

The above timeline applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Please note that this timeline is subject to change based on the latest arrangements by the Registry or the students’ respective programme office.
