EdUHK Welcomes Lingnan University Delegation to Advance Academic Exchange in Cognitive Neuroscience

On April 17th, 2026, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) welcomed a delegation of scholars from Lingnan University (LU) to the University Research Facility of Human Behavioral Neuroscience (UHBN) for a research exchange and laboratory visit. The event aimed to strengthen academic connections and explore collaborative opportunities in neuroscience, psychology, and cognitive science.

The exchange was initiated following discussions between Prof. Wai-Kai HOU, Professor in the Department of Psychology, Director of the Centre for Psychosocial Health, and Associate Director of UHBN at EdUHK, and Prof. William Hayward, Dean of Social Sciences and Chair Professor of Psychology at Lingnan University. The programme included a tour of the UHBN laboratories for introducing EdUHK’s advanced research infrastructure and ongoing work in human behavioral neuroscience, followed by a research sharing session featuring scholars from both universities.

Speakers from the Department of Psychology at Lingnan University included Prof. William HAYWARD, Dr. Jie XU, Dr. Alan LEE, Dr. Fai Hong LUI, Dr. Yi HUANG, and Dr. Hezul NG. Speakers from EdUHK included Prof. HOU, Prof. Andrew EDWARDS, Dr. Michael KUO, Dr. Nichol WONG, and Dr. Clive WONG. Their presentations covered a wide range of topics, including face perception studied through eye-tracking and EEG, human–AI interaction, psychophysiology, developmental neuroscience, and mental disorders.

 

The visit provided a valuable platform for both institutions to exchange research insights and deepened mutual understanding of their expertise and facilities, and discuss future collaboration in joint research, interdisciplinary exchange, and laboratory development. The event reflected EdUHK’s commitment to fostering cross-institutional dialogue and advancing impactful neuroscience and psychology research through the development of large-scale strategic collaboration.
