Symposium




Conference

The theme of the conference is identified as “360° Promotion of Healthy Living among Students”. It is intended to cater for the target participants of 500 PE teachers. The symposium aims at providing PE teachers with key conceptual framework of 360° Promotion of Healthy Living among Students and how it can be nurtured through PE.


Keynote Speech

PE scholars from abroad and local practitioner will be invited to deliver speeches on the topic. The following objectives are formulated for reference:
  1. To share with local and foreign scholars concerning concepts, development, issues, experiences and practices of promoting students’ healthy living with reference to PE teaching and learning in Hong Kong and abroad;
  2. To make cross reference with experience and advanced knowledge concerning nurturing students’ healthy living; and
  3. To build up PE teachers’ competence and confidence in making use of the advanced knowledge and experience for improving practices of learning and teaching concerning how healthy living can be nurtured through PE.

Parallel sessions & Lesson for analysis

It is intended to organise the parallel sessions in the form of a one-day function with at least 13 presentations (6 for primary and secondary school teachers, 4 for primary school teachers and 4 for secondary school teachers).  Open application and invitations to schools, organisation and PE teachers will be conducted to solicit presentations. There are also 2 lessons for analysis (1 for primary school teachers and 1 for secondary school teachers) with follow up group discussions. The lessons for analysis will focus on how the 360° Promotion of Healthy Living among Students can be promoted through PE lesson.

The theme of the parallel sessions are formulated as follows:
  1. Innovative curricular and pedagogical PE practices;
  2. School based PE curricular and pedagogical practices;
  3. Practicum and post practicum sharing and discussion in PE; and
  4. Others like legal and insurance aspects of PE, IT in PE, inclusive education.
The objectives of the parallel sessions are formulated as follows:
  1. To provide an opportunity and platform for PE teachers to share, discuss and disseminate good PE practices on cultivating healthy living;
  2. To share relevant and innovative experiences of school-based assessment, pedagogy and curricular development and practices; and
  3. To update PE curriculum development.

Poster Presentation

Open application and invitations to schools, organisation and PE teachers will be demonstrated their practice in promoting health in the school.
