Theme and Aims

The theme of the conference is ˇ§Nurturing creativity and critical thinking Skills through Physical Educationˇ¨. It is intended to cater for the target participants of 700 PE teachers. The conference aims at providing PE teachers with key conceptual framework of creativity and critical thinking and how these learning-to-learn skills can be nurtured in PE. Two local and foreign PE scholars will be invited respectively. The following objectives are formulated for reference:

a/ To share with local and foreign scholars concerning concepts, development, issues, experiences and practices of nurturing creativity and critical thinking skills with reference to PE teaching and learning in Hong Kong;
b/ To make cross reference with foreign experience and advanced knowledge concerning nurturing studentsˇ¦ creativity and critical thinking; and
c/ To build up PE teachersˇ¦ competence and confidence in making use of the advanced knowledge and experience for improving practices of teaching concerning how creativity and critical thinking can be nurtured through PE.
