1. Graduation Requirement 

For cohorts admitted in 2014-15 and thereafter, students who are enrolled in the non-education or education undergraduate programmes* are required to pass the IT e-Portfolio Checking to fulfill one of the graduation requirements.

2. IT e-Portfolio Checking 
 

IT e-Portfolio refers to a comprisal of a collection of links to their existing learning e-Portfolios for demonstrating the necessary components of IT competence.

To facilitate the submission of IT e-Portfolio Checking, you are suggested to follow the following steps:

 

2.1. Self-access Moodle Course

Students are encouraged to visit the self-access Moodle course at https://moodle.eduhk.hk/enrol/index.php?id=13748. For the first visit of the course, students MUST click on “Enrol Me” button to make it available. Please note that the three quizzes in the course will NOT be counted and graded as part of the IT e-Portfolio Checking.

The Moodle course can be accessed by the following steps:

Step 2: Click on “Enrol me” button

2.2. IT Foundation Workshop (ITFW)/ IT Consolidation Workshop (ITCW) Materials and References

Students are strongly encouraged to attend IT Foundation Workshop (ITFW) and IT Consolidation Workshop (ITCW) to understand the passing requirements of the IT e-Portfolio Checking (e.g. assessment criteria, and submission deadline). No registration is needed for the workshops. Both the ITFW and ITCW materials and references are also available at https://www.eduhk.hk/mit/view.php?secid=51208.

Alternatively, students may refer http://www.lttc.eduhk.hk/?p=4435 and attend the optional e-Portfolio workshop provided by LTTC to understand the basic operations of creating e-Portfolio.

 

2.3. Passing Criteria and Submission of IT e-Portfolio

Students are required to complete the FOUR components as an e-Portfolio page (refer Section 2.2 above) and submit their IT e-Portfolios in Moodle according to a specific deadline. The detailed information of submission such as 1) the creation of a Secret URL in Mahara, 2) the methods of uploading the Secret URL to Moodle, and 3) submission deadline will be provided in the ITFW and ITCW.

2.4. Course Registration and Result of ITC3003 IT E-PORTFOLIO CHECKING

ITC3003 IT E-PORTFOLIO CHECKING is a pre-assigned course, the pass result of ITC3003 IT E-PORTFOLIO CHECKING will ONLY be shown both in DegreeWorks and on the student’s transcript in the graduating semester (i.e. the final semester of study).

If the student has not completed the IT e-Portfolio (or failed tentatively), our instructor will send individual email to further provide guidance before graduation for the completion of the IT e-Portfolio. Therefore, students are advised to check the University email account regularly and complete the IT e-Portfolio with the set deadline.

 

2.5. Students who have previously passed the ITC Test/ IT e-Portfolio Checking at EdUHK (ITCE Exemption)

Students admitted in 2014/15 or thereafter who at the time of admission have a valid “Pass” result by taking the Information Technology Competence (ITC) Test or completing the IT e-Portfolio Checking obtained in previous study at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) within five years from the year graduated or last studied in the Institute/ University, may submit their applications for verification. Please see Section 2.5.1 for the application procedures.

 

2.5.1. Application Procedures

1. Starting from December 1, 2016, hard copy application will not be accepted. Please read the notes and complete the online application form at https://machg2.eduhk.hk/machform/view.php?id=115083.

2. Applications will only be processed with sufficient information. Application process will be delayed or not be processed if insufficient information is provided. Please make sure the information provided in the form is accurate.

3. The application will normally be completed within four to six weeks from the date when all required information/ documents have been received. Applicant will be notified of the results through University email.

 

2.5.2. Application Period

Application can be made from 1 September to 31 March each year. Late application may not be considered.
