Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) (from 2025/26 for local students)

 

Background

 

The HKSAR Government has launched the Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS), starting from the 2025/26 academic year. This scholarship scheme aims to attract outstanding local students to pursue postgraduate studies in key areas that will drive the development of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

 

Scholarship Highlights

 

FTSS awardees can receive tuition subsidies for up to HK$100,000 for designated taught postgraduate programmes, regardless of the actual study period and mode of study.

 

Application Procedures

 

Eligible students will be invited by the programme to submit applications. Candidates are required to submit a personal statement on how they would contribute to the priority areas of Hong Kong and take into account the applicant’s commitment to join the relevant industries/sectors and stay in Hong Kong (or the Greater Bay Area) upon graduation.

Remarks

 

  • 1. Applicants must with local student status only;
  • 2. The award of the fellowships will be based on merits taking into account the students' academic achievements, professional qualifications, relevant working experience and achievements in other areas as well as the proposals submitted by the students;
  • 3. Applicants must not be awarded other government scholarships, including the Continuing Education Fund (except the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme under Student Finance Office) for pursuing the same programme;
  • 4. Applicants must not simultaneously register for another qualification at this University or a post-secondary qualification at any institution;
  • 5. Penalty might be charged to applicants who fail to complete the study of after being awarded a scholarship
