Dr SUN Daner Co-Convened SSCI Journal Editors' Forum at IFET 2025 in Nanjing, China
NANJING, China – The 24th International Forum on Educational Technology (IFET 2025) was successfully held from November 14 to 16, 2025, at Nanjing Normal University in Jiangsu Province, China. Under the theme "Intelligent Education: Co-creating a New Ecosystem for Smart Learning," the forum brought together experts, scholars, and practitioners from the global educational technology community.
A notable session, "Insights & Foresight: A Dialogue with Editors of SSCI Journals," was thoughtfully coordinated by Associate Professor Daner SUN from The Education University of Hong Kong and Professor Li ZHAO from Nanjing Normal University. The session was moderated by Dr Sun, who serves as the Associate Head of MIT department, Co-Director of GIET, and as an Associate Editor of Education and Information Technologies (EAIT), Educational Technology & Society (ETS), and Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning (RPTEL). The session provided a valuable platform for in-depth exchanges between participants and leading editors of internationally renowned SSCI-indexed journals, focusing on research trends and academic publishing.

- Professor Mutlu Cukurova (University College London), Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Educational Technology;
- Professor Therese Keane (La Trobe University), Acting Editor of Education and Information Technologies;
- Professor Di Zou (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Associate Editor of Computers & Education;
- Professor Qing Ma (The Education University of Hong Kong), Associate Editor of Computer Assisted Language Learning and Language Learning & Technology;
- Professor Yun Wen (Nanyang Technological University), Associate Editor of Educational Technology & Society and the Asia Pacific Journal of Education.
The conference was hosted by the Higher Education Teaching Guidance Committee for Educational Technology of the Ministry of Education and organized by the School of Educational Science at Nanjing Normal University. Parallel forums covered a wide range of topics, including theoretical and practical advances in intelligent education, AI applications across primary, secondary, and tertiary education, and digital literacy development for pre-service teachers.
The editors' forum, jointly coordinated by Dr. SUN and Professor ZHAO, was widely appreciated for enhancing scholarly communication and supporting the growth of early-career researchers in the field of educational technology.
