We Cherish Every Dollar You Donated

Why Making a Donation to HKIEd?

Sir Gordon Wu
Sir Gordon Wu's $3 million donation is his second gift to HKIEd in three years. As with other like-minded donors, who wish to strengthen the Institute's long term financial capacity, Sir Gordon's $6 million was injected into the Institute's Endowment Fund. The interest generated from the donation will help support outstanding mainland students to be trained as professional teachers at the Institute.

Both Sir Gordon and Lady Ivy Wu are staunch
supporters of HKIEd.

Mr Richard Li
To Mr Richard Li, supporting small class teaching is something so "taken for granted" that it need not be debated. After a brief 15-minute discussion with colleagues of HKIEd, he promptly decided to donate $2 million to the Centre for Development and Research in Small Class Teaching through his company, Pacific Century Premium Developments Limited.

Mr Li also made a short trip to visit HKIEd on 7 February 2005, fitting it in between two business trips. He met the President Professor Paul Morris together with Institute staff and student representatives. Mr Li enquired, and was concerned about, various issues in local education, including helping juvenile delinquents in schools and the medium of instruction, etc. He went as far as recommending a juvenile expert Rev Peter Newbery of Youth Outreach to give a talk to HKIEd's students.
