From Broadcasting Studio to Classroom

Scene I - about 2,500 years ago in the city-state of Athens
Socrates conducted an informal discussion class with his students. Everyone was invited to define "What is virtue?" Socrates had no specific theory regarding its definition. He allowed his students to pursue their thoughts and arrive at their own conclusions.

Scene II - the visual image of a contemporary English song by Pink Floyd
The scene presented a production line of expressionless identically-faced students. In the background was Pink Floyd's famous song with its forceful and challenging lyrics: "We don't need no education. We don't need no thought control. No dark sarcasm in the classroom. Teachers leave them kids alone."

THE JUXTAPOSITION of these two scenes - an ancient Greek ideal of education, which is student-oriented, vis-a-vis the modern world system which churns out students as mass manufactured products - can perhaps summarise the view of our protagonist on education.
