Pen-named A Nong, the well-known children's author is less known by his real name, Chu Po-sang. A Nong is a veteran teacher with 39 years of experience who graduated in 1954 from Grantham Training College. Before retirement, he took up the challenge of joining a school admitting children with serious emotional problems.

A Nong is a prolific writer, well-loved and admired by young people. His passion for education is apparent from the many books he has authored. He is widely acclaimed in the world of children's literature. He has won many awards, including "Bing Xin Children Literature Award 2004" (winning book: "Tenderness in My Heart"), "Third Hong Kong Biennial Children Literature Award" (winning book: "Story-telling by A Nong"), "Hong Kong Education City Top Ten Good Books 2004" (Top Choice) and "My Favourite Writer Award" (winning book: "Diary of the Fair Maiden"). A Nong was also nominated three times (in 2001, 2002 and 2005) as their best loved author by secondary school students.

In early April when A Nong visited Hong Kong, Joy of Learning seized the opportunity to invite him to share with the readers his vision and passion for "education". The soft-speaking A Nong is not an imposing figure but he has some refreshing views about life and education.
