Canada was chilly and snowy in February 2005. The HKIEd visiting group, comprising staff members of the Communications and Institutional Advancement Office, led by Professor Cheng Yin-cheong, Director of Centre for Institutional Research and Development had travelled half way around the globe. Looking forward keenly to the visit, Professor Cheng said, "Our links with alumni should not be inhibited by physical distance. I hope we can visit alumni who have settled in different parts of the world and strengthen our bonds with them."

The warm reception extended to the HKIEd visitors and the gathering of over 70 alumni in Canada has been reported in great detail in the latest edition of "Alumni Newsletter". Recent developments concerning our overseas alumni can be accessed at http://www.alumni.ied.edu.hk/chi/news.htm.
