"Apart from serving as the Master of Ceremonies, Ruby
took up the very demanding registration work. In receiving over 400 scholars
from the mainland and overseas, she demonstrated enthusiasm and determination
to strive for perfection which facilitated the smooth running of the conference."
Discerning eyes scouting talents
Ruby and Semi's remarkable performance at the international conference offered
them opportunities beyond their imagination. One of the guest speakers at
the conference, Professor Larry Hensley from the University of Northern Iowa,
was so impressed with Ruby and Semi that he offered them full scholarships
for the Master of Arts in Physical Education at his University. The news came
as a great surprise to Ruby and Semi. "Studying abroad has always been
our dreams. We are so grateful to the HKIEd and to Dr Chin for bringing us
such a precious opportunity," explained Ruby.
