Work hard without expecting returns
It might seem that success came from mere luck. However, as Dr Chin says, the
opportunities Ruby and Semi received were hard-earned. "If they had not
performed well, no one would even have noticed them." Ruby believes she
outshone others because of her hard work and her determination to "work
hard without expecting returns" as each and every chance will help enrich
one's knowledge and experience. Semi also gave advice to her juniors, "Teaching
works with the heart. If you have a passion for life, education will be an ideal
profession for you."
In December 2004, Dr Chin Ming-kai visited Ruby and Semi in the States. He
was delighted to see that Ruby and Semi had settled down well and were both
well-liked by their professors and peers. "Ruby and Semi scored straight
A's in the first semester. I am very proud of them."
The Joy of Learning would like to congratulate Ruby and Semi and
wish them every success in their studies. We believe they will be outstanding
teachers of physical education in the future!
