Last October and December, I-WELL conducted a week-long special education training program for all teachers at Damin School, the only full-time school for children with intellectual disabilities in Ningbo. For more details, please visit: https://www.eduhk.hk/iwell/en/news/content/94/view.html
On March 12, Co-Director Professor Leung Chi Hung paid a follow-up visit to the school. During the visit, he toured the campus, learned about the school’s operations, observed classroom activities, compared curriculum development between the two regions, shared insights on the use of educational technology, and discussed future collaborations.
That same day, Professor Leung also delivered a two-hour lecture titled "Psychological and Emotional Intervention for Special Needs Students" to the teachers of Damin School and resource teachers from Haishu District. The lecture focused on the inner world of children with learning disabilities and autism, encouraging teachers to analyze students’ behavioral issues by paying attention to their underlying psychological and emotional needs, thereby better preventing problematic behaviors.

I-WELL has always been committed to providing research support, evidence-based training development, and educational services. This visit is believed to inject new energy into the collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland China in the field of special education. Looking ahead, I-WELL hopes to work with various stakeholders on cross-regional research projects, promote professional training for special education teachers, and establish a remote education platform through artificial intelligence to benefit more individuals with special educational needs.
