2019 EduHK Squash Team Overseas Training Camp – Taipei

The EduHK Squash Team, including 10 team members, participated in Taipei Training Camp from 26 Dec to 31 Dec 2019. The team was arranged to have trainings and friendly matches with the Taipei league teams at National Taiwan University, while they had a valuable chance to play with Mr. James Huang, the first Taiwan Squash PSA player who ranked No.1 in Taiwan.

The camp is very fruitful to allow sport team members to grow through exposure and experiences, which can well equip themselves for the coming competitions. The followings are the reflections from some of the team members,

Ma Siu Kwan (the captain of squash team) shared,
‘Through the team matches during the training camp, we, the team members encouraged and cheered up each other to complete each task with team spirit. Senior players could take care of the juniors by advising them on the skill improvement while the juniors could learn from their observation and experience. Squash team is not only a sport team, it is a big family. This training camp has nurtured our friendship and harmony within the team. ’

Yeung Tsz May (the captain of squash team) reflected,
‘I found the importance of debriefing in this trip, the debriefing session was held after every training day, which created a platform for sharing thoughts from team members. Everyone expressed their negative and positive views sincerely to eliminate any misunderstandings between each other, it is a good channel to build up a better relationship within the team.’

Fu Tsz Ching (one of the squash team player) expressed,
‘The intensity of the trainings and matches made the camp more diversified. This trip not only could train up my skill and physical fitness, but also my determination in playing the sport. We had a deep reflection about our viewpoint in win and lose during the matches, we now understand the goal of this training camp, matches and the sport and it is beneficial to re-orient ourselves in a clearer direction.’
