In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, organizing a traditional race seems “Mission Impossible”. However, with the Sports Council members’ tremendous effort and creativity, they had broken the limit and the first virtual Cross Country Race was launched. Participants can record and upload their miles through the application - “Strava” with no restrictions on time and venue.
In addition, the committee members hope to arouse the attention of the EdUHK community to the health needs of people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and students with special educational needs (SENs) and encourage them to do more exercises amidst the pandemic. The virtual cross country race received an overwhelmingly response with 30 SENs participants and more than 160 EdUHK participants joining the competition.
