The Department of Curriculum and Instruction seeks to play a leading role in the areas of curriculum, teaching, and assessment in Hong Kong, in the region and internationally – striving for excellence in our research and scholarship, our teaching, and our community engagement. We strive to be recognized as an international locus of excellent research and teaching, in the specific areas of curriculum development and reform, teaching, and assessment both in and beyond the classroom in diverse educational settings. We are committed to providing our students with a multidisciplinary learning experience as well as supporting local schools in their teachers' professional development. We also view our mission as serving the professional community through collaboration and partnerships that contribute to the development and improvement of educational policies and practices.

The Faculty of Education aims to develop knowledge in education, upgrade the teaching profession and concerns on issues of education, specifically to realize the needs of various stakeholders to equip educators to not only possess the basic knowledge and skills in education, with good ethics in executing responsibilities, think critically and creatively, and research and solve problems, but also lead efficiently, posses entrepreneurial skills, and be proactive to contribute nationally and internationally.

The Faculty benchmarks its curriculum to international standards and collaborates with strategic partners to ensure its commitment to becoming the premier education institution in Indonesia. Each study program curriculum is designed to be interdisciplinary, multi-entry, and multi-exit, allowing for flexibility based on student needs.

The Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Academic Group, established in October 2007, is committed to developing curriculum leaders and teaching professionals who are leading curriculum change and innovation in various educational settings. The academic group is devoted to scholarship, inquiry, and practice grounded in a deep understanding of epistemological and pedagogical issues so that curriculum design, innovation, implementation and evaluation is well-grounded and provides for diverse learners needs, demands of content and teaching processes, assessment for learning and the social purposes of education.
