Description

The Second Major in Early Years Education is designed to equip students with an understanding of socio-cultural, historical and political forces that influence early childhood development from both local and global perspectives. It provides opportunities for students taking both education programmes and non-education programmes as their first Major to become enriched in their knowledge of the key concepts which underpin early year’s education, in relation to childcare, preschool and lower primary settings.

Career / Study Progression

Opens up multiple career pathways for students to apply their education knowledge in a wider range of settings such as playgroups, publication companies, after-school activities centres etc.

Students interested in further study after graduation may be able to continue the Master’s programmes in the field of education, psychology and special education, such as the Master of Education (Area of Focus in Early Childhood Education), the Master of Social Sciences in Psychology (Schools and Community Settings), the Master of Arts in Educational Counselling, as well as the Master of Science in Educational Speech-Language Pathology and Learning Disabilities offered by EdUHK.
