Educational Psychology

Description

The Second Major in Educational Psychology is designed to complement the knowledge students gain in their major discipline by investigating human behaviors, thoughts and feelings from psychological perspectives. Students will gain an understanding on how psychological theories and principles can be applied to educational settings and professional practices, be equipped with the skills in psychological research and statistics to analyze educational phenomena, and apply ethical principles and standards to support the professional responsibility and conduct in education.

Paves the way for students to pursue careers related to psychology and education.

Equips students with the knowledge to improve quality of teaching, guidance and counselling in educational settings.

Students interested in further study after graduation may be able to continue the Master’s programmes in the field of education, psychology and special education, such as the Master of Education (Area of Focus in Educational and Developmental Psychology), the Master of Social Sciences in Psychology (Schools and Community Settings), the Master of Arts in Educational Counselling, as well as the Master of Science in Educational Speech-Language Pathology and Learning Disabilities offered by EdUHK.
