Addiction is a common disorder worldwide. Many studies have suggested that addiction was associated with deficits in both brain structure and function. This talk will first go over the neural model under addiction and argue that there are common and specific deficits for different kinds of addictions. Then, it will introduce three studies to show the brain changes associated with addiction as well as addiction recovery. Last, it will give some suggestions for addiction treatment and prevention. It will mainly focus on the adolescents with immature prefrontal lobe development who are vulnerable for addiction.
