IELTS Preparation Award Scheme
1. Objective
To prepare students for taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) to fulfil the University’s *Language Graduation Requirement (LGR)/ **Language Exit Requirement (LER) for English, Arthur Samy Language Learning Centre (ASLLC) is offering IELTS preparation workshops for beginners, IELTS workshops on each test section and a series of 10-session IELTS preparation workshops. To encourage students to have better preparation for IELTS, awards would be given to ten applicants who have joined the largest number of IELTS workshop sessions in each semester.
*English LGR: for first-year-first-degree (FYFD) students admitted in 2025/26 and onwards
**English LER: for FYFD students admitted in 2024/25 or before, and senior year entry (SY) students admitted in 2025/26
2. Eligibility
To be eligible for the award, applicants must be full-time undergraduates of the University.
3. Selection Criteria and Procedures
Awards shall be given to the top ten applicants who have attended the largest number of IELTS workshop sessions in a semester based on their submission of the attendance records of IELTS workshop sessions.
4. Application and Announcement of Results
All eligible students are invited to apply for the scheme via (link) by 3 January 2026 for Semester 1 award and by 2 May 2026 for Semester 2 award.
The results of the scheme will be announced to the ten awardees via email in each semester.
5. Presentation of Awards and Certificates
Each awardee shall be contacted to receive an award and a certificate in person shortly after the announcement of the results.
6. Personal Information and Data
The personal data provided in the online applications will be used for the EdUHK IELTS Preparation Award Scheme and the compilation of the relevant statistics to facilitate review of the award scheme. It might be disclosed to relevant parties within the University, e.g., the Finance Office, for the above-mentioned purposes only, unless required by law. The Personal Information Collection Statement can be found in the online application form.
