The Centre for Language in Education (CLE) is pleased to announce to you a series of activities from November to December 2020.

Online English Consultations to be offered by International Tutors  (Booking required) (One hour per session)   

You can ask the International Tutors about the learning of the English language online. 

Online English Café to be offered by International Tutors (Booking required) (30 mins per session)

Online IELTS and LPATE workshops to be offered by an English teacher (Booking required) (One hour per session)
 
IELTS Writing Workshops (Elementary level) (One-off)

This series of 10 X 1-hour workshops will focus on both Task 1 and Task 2 of the IELTS Writing test. Students will learn how to improve in the key areas of Task Fulfilment, Vocabulary, Grammar and Cohesion & Coherence. There will be opportunities for students to practice writing at the paragraph level and feedback will be provided. (Notes: You are advised to finish all sessions of this workshop in order to have a better understanding and preparation for IELTS writing.)  

IELTS Speaking Workshops (Elementary level) (One-off)

This series of 10 X 1-hour workshops will focus on the IELTS Speaking test. Students will learn how to improve in the key areas of Fluency, Vocabulary, Grammar and Pronunciation. There will be opportunities for students to practice responding to the kinds of questions used in IELTS and feedback will be provided. (Notes: You are advised to finish all sessions of this workshop in order to have a better understanding and preparation for IELTS speaking.)  

LPATE Preparation (One-off) 

Both 10 X 1 hour workshops will address the requirements of the LPATE, offer strategies for dealing with the various sections of the test, and opportunities for in-class practice. While the course will deal with all four papers, the focus will be on Speaking and Writing – the two areas that cause most problems for candidates.  All seats will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. (Notes: This workshop is for students who are planning to take LPATE. You only need to join one of the workshops as the content is similar.)

Online English Chat Room (Booking required) (Two hours per session)

4 online chat sessions will be offered in November. During the 2-hour English chat sessions, you will be engaged in conversations on different topics as you get the opportunity to share your thoughts with others.  It is a speaking activity to build your confidence and improve your English proficiency.

Online Cantonese Consultation (Booking required) (One hour per session)  

You can practice Cantonese with our tutors or ask them questions relating to Cantonese. Consultations are available from Mondays to Fridays.  

Online Putonghua Consultation (Booking required) (One hour per session)   

You can practice Putonghua with our tutors or ask them questions relating to Putonghua. Consultations are available from Mondays to Fridays.
