On 4 October 2025, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) organised an AI training workshop for outstanding students from Chinese Mainland who clinched top honours at the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (Hong Kong Station). Held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the workshop aimed to equip young talents with cutting-edge AI skills and foster cross-disciplinary innovation.

Dr Kevin Yung, Associate Professor and Associate Head (International and Local Engagement) of C&I at EdUHK led the session, delivering a keynote on “Preparing Future Studies and Career With AI Literacy”. The workshop featured AI literacy and an AI humanoid robots, aligning with the global push for youth empowerment in technology.

Themed “Bridging AI and Education”, the event welcomed 100 participants, including primary and secondary students as well as educators and schoolteachers from Chinese Mainland. The attendees engaged in dynamic discussions, reflecting EdUHK’s commitment to nurture future-ready innovators.

“We are thrilled to support these young pioneers. Their creativity paired with AI proficiency will shape tomorrow’s solutions,” said Dr Kevin Yung.

The Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition (Hong Kong Station) was hosted by the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Education Society, with EdUHK as the academic partner. The workshop underscored the university’s role in advancing global educational synergies, echoing the spirit of events that support AI in education and youth development.
