Co-organised by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and the Chinese Society of Education, the 5th cohort of Professional Development Programme for Primary and Secondary School Principals and Teachers is now open for applications.

Running from 12 to 16 October 2026 at EdUHK’s Tai Po Campus and local school venues, the programme introduces principals and teachers to innovative educational approaches under the theme “21st Century Skills and Assessment”. It consists of themed lectures, seminars and practical workshops on frontier topics, including values in education, 21^st-century skills development and assessment, creative pedagogy, STEAM, local educational practices, and learning sciences.

Led by EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi Kin, the programme brings together a faculty of senior scholars from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Special Education and Counselling, as well as seasoned school administrators. Through mutual exchange, participants will explore curriculum innovation pathways across diverse educational contexts and learn how to foster students’ core 21^st-century competencies, such as problem-solving and creativity.

The programme also includes thee half-day school visits, during which participants will tour school facilities, observe day-to-day teaching operations, and exchange practical teaching insights with local educators. The visits offer a well-rounded understanding of Hong Kong’s education innovations in practice.

• Result Notification: All applicants will be informed of the application result via email or phone by 18 September 2026.
• Certificate: Participants who complete the programme with an attendance rate of 85% or higher will receive a joint completion certificate issued by EdUHK and the Chinese Society of Education.
