C&I Researchers Awarded Multiple Honours at the 2025/26 Dean’s Research Awards

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is delighted to announce that Dr Shen BA, Dr Kevin Wai Ho YUNG and Ms Jiahe GU have been honoured with the 2025/26 Dean’s Research Awards. These accolades recognise the significant contributions of research to the betterment of society.

 

Dr Shen BA received the Dean’s Research Award: Journal Articles for his rigorous, innovative peer-reviewed journal paper, Community of inquiry in motion: Modeling inquiry dynamics with movement analysis (MOVA), which demonstrates remarkable academic depth and scholarly influence in the field.

 

Dr Kevin Wai Ho YUNG was awarded the Dean’s Research Award: Books for his newly published monograph, Narratives of English language learners in private tutoring: An L2 motivational self perspective, which offers valuable theoretical insights and practical implications for research into English language learning in the mainstream and shadow education contexts.

 

Furthermore, Ms Jiahe GU earned the Dean’s Research Award: Postgraduate Journal Articles. Her paper Effects of GenAI interventions on student academic performance: A meta-analysis exemplifies outstanding research output among our postgraduate cohort and demonstrates her strong early-career research potential.

 

These awards fully reflect our department’s vibrant research culture and consistent pursuit of excellence.
