Principals' Ratings
on Graduate Performance for the
2001, 2002 and 2003 Cohorts after One Year of Teaching |
|
|
Remarks:
- The 3-year annual surveys conducted by the HKIEd
Centre for Research and International Collaboration were
responded by a total of 731 graduates and 662 principals.
- When comparing the 437 graduates of 2003 with the
graduates in 2002 and 2001 after their one year of teaching,
the three cohorts obtained an average ranking of 3.56,
3.50 and 3.39 in a five-point scale respectively.
- The findings indicated that the ratings increased
from year to year when comparing the performance ratings
of graduates of 3 years after they had earned one year's
teaching experience.
- Among the 12 broad items of attributes surveyed,
the 2003 graduates were rated particularly high in the
use of Chinese in classroom, Chinese language proficiency
(the main medium of instruction used by the graduates),
work attitude, major subjects taught, working with students,
teachers and principals, and use of information technology
resources.
