Are students eligible to apply for parking permit?
A

According to the University policy, only in-service part-time student and in-service students taking full-time Block Release Professional Development Course (Professional Development Programmes) are eligible for applying for parking permit.  All these kinds of students, regardless of their capacity, e.g. alumni, will be required to apply for a relevant parking permit.

    For in-service part-time student, he/she must be 
        (a) studying an evening or a Saturday course or both and holding a valid driving licence ; AND
        (b) The vehicle concerned should be owned by the student or his/her family member, or a company which assigns the right of use to the applicant and be covered by Third Party Insurance;
(c) complete the form EO3 and pay a permit fee of HK$130 per programme year.

For in-service part-time student attending Professional Development Programmes, the applicant must be
    (a) studying a full-time block release course; AND
    (b) The vehicle concerned should be owned by the student or his/her family member, and be covered by Third Party Insurance;
    (c) complete and return the form EO58 “Application for In-service Student Carpark Permit in Tai Po Campus during the Full-time Block Release Professional Development Course” and pay a permit fee of HK$460 per course.

The relevant forms can also be obtained at the service counter of the Estates Office (Room 01, 2/F, Cho Kwai Chee Foundation Building) or the Security Control Centre.

For other students, hourly parking is available for a quota of 30 vehicles on a first-come-first-served basis on LG3 of the Cho Kwai Chee Foundation Building (Block A) during the following timeslots:

    5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight, Monday to Friday
    7:00 am to 12:00 midnight, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday

    Fee schedule for hourly parking is as follows:

    HK$ 5 for 30 mins / HK$ 10 for 1 hour (for the first 4 hours)
    HK$ 10 for 30 mins / HK$ 20 for 1 hour (for the 5th to 8th hour)
    HK$ 30 for 30 mins / HK$ 60 for 1 hour (for the 9th hour and onwards)

No overnight parking for students is allowed for which an administration of $320 per will be imposed.

What are the opening hours of the carpark?

The opening hours of the carpark are from 7:00 am to 12:00 midnight.

How can I apply for the use of Common Area of the University?
A

Students or student organizations may need to seek the approval from their Deans/Head of Departments and Student Affairs Office/ affiliated Faculties/ Departments prior to their activities.  Students or student organizations are requested to complete the form via their host departments/ offices, EO20, and to return to the Estates Office for further review normally no less than seven working days in advance of the day of use.
