CROSS-STRAIT FOUR REGIONS CONFERENCE ON MATHEMATICS EDUCATION: Competency-based Mathematics Education Reforms


Introduction

Currently, competency-based education reforms are being promoted around the world to develop students' skills for the 21st century. The cross-strait four regions have also undergone a new curriculum reform since 2000. The new mathematics curriculum standards and textbooks will be implemented in schools. At the same time, in response to the needs of social development, e-learning and STEM education are booming. Various teaching methods and interdisciplinary courses are emerging as well. In this wave of reforms, what changes have been made to mathematics education in the cross-strait four regions that are influenced by the same Chinese culture? How mathematics teachers who play a key role in the curriculum implementation should respond? This conference will provide a broad platform for exchanges, observation, and communication among peers to promote the professional development of mathematics education.


Aims:

To explore the development and direction of mathematics education reform, STEM education, e-learning, competency-based mathematical activities and other mathematics education topics.


Targets:

Teachers in primary and secondary schools and other mathematics educators. (Limited quota)
