Sunday : 6:20 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (optional self-financed dinner)

4. Do I need a visa to visit Taiwan?
  Some foreign nationals are NOT required to obtain a visa when entering Taiwan for tourism purposes. Tourists are permitted to stay in Taiwan for a period of not exceeding 30 or 90 days on each visit. We are providing you with an invitation letter to the Roundtable.

5. How will we get from the airport to the conference hotel/venue?
  Please visit the Accommodation and Transportation session of this site.
6. How do I book a hotel room?
  Unless otherwise advised in advance, your room bill for March 5th and March 6th will be covered by the Roundtable. You will be responsible for all other expenses incurred.

8. Who is attending?
  Participation is by-invitation only, and limited to 60+ scholars, scholar-practitioners, training managers, policymakers, and principals from 18 countries / territories in the region and beyond. Thus far we have received 60+ confirmations from China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Germany, Chile, Israel, India, South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
9. What are the goals of the Roundtable?
  Our goals for the Roundtable 2017 are:

1. To reflect on what we’ve learned about school leadership in Asia since the first ALR.
2. To reflect discuss implications of the process and outcomes experienced in Asia for:
  School leadership research in Asia;
  Research in other parts of the world; and
  Conducting high impact cross-cultural comparative research.
10. Do I need to write a paper for the Roundtable?
  We do not require participants to submit formal papers for the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2017, but we highly encourage you to submit formal papers for the conference. Upon your permission, the APCLC and the Tamkang University might publish them in e-conference proceeding and / or APCLC Monograph series.

We request that participants submit papers from 1,500 to 5,000 words in length. Topic should revolve around "Seven years on: The state of the Asian knowledge base?". Details of submission requirements please refer to the attached.
11. Will I make a presentation of my paper?
  Participants will not present their papers. The format of the meeting emphasizes interaction, not academic paper presentation.
12. When is my paper due?
 
If you choose to submit a paper, the schedule is as follows.

-The abstract is due on February 4, 2017.
-Draft paper is due on March 5th, 2017, if any.
-The full paper is due on June 1st , 2017.
13. Will there be visual audio aids for presentation?
  For the Key Speeches, computer generated projectors will be provided.

During the concurrent and working sessions whiteboard paper and markers will be provided. If you want us to print any handouts or poster for you, please send to us (APCLC@eduhk.hk) no later than February 28, 2017.
14. What will be the weather in Taipei?
  The average maximum daytime temperature in Taipei in March is a comfortable 20°C. There are usually 3 hours of bright sunshine each day, which represents 26% of the 12 hours of daylight.

Expect 185mm of rainfall across the whole of March with 20 days with some rain falling. Maximum UV levels will be very high (10 UV index) at midday when the skies are clear. The average night-time temperature is usually a cool 13°C.
