Project on “Global Media Education through Development of Online Teaching (GloMEd)” Funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education
In April 2021, the University of Lapland proposed the "Global Media Education through Development of Online Teaching (GloMEd)" project, seeking funding from Team Finland Knowledge programme. This initiative involves collaboration with the EdUHK within the UNITWIN/UNESCO Network on Teacher Education for Social Justice and Diversity. The project aims to develop a joint course on Global Media Education, enhancing knowledge exchange on AI literacy and intercultural communication for MA students. At the EdUHK, the project was led by the UNESCO Chair in Regional Education Development and Lifelong Learning, and supported by the Faculty of Humanities and The Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology from EdUHK. Since then, EdUHK delivered online lectures and workshops and collaborated in an online teaching course.
Over the period covered in this report, the project members from the University of Lapland visited EdUHK for collaborative teaching activities in March-April 2023 and November 2023; they facilitated seminars and workshops for the university staff, and developed online self-access resources about the online pedagogy model.
