Research and Development Committee

The prime responsibility of the Research and Development Committee is to further the Institute and Department's strategic plans for research and scholarship. More specifically, its terms of reference are:

• to develop and implement strategic plans for supporting research and scholarly development in the Department;
• to advise the Department on improving the quality of research and scholarship and related issues;
• to promote and publicize the Department's research outputs and activities;
• to develop and maintain QA mechanisms and procedures that are applied to research and scholarship activities in the Department;
• to develop and implement plans that facilitate distribution of internal research funds, HREC application, and enhance Department;s RAE;
• to coordinate and liaise with other institute research bodies such as RDO;
• to act at the direction of the Departmental Meeting in specific or routine matters; and
• to facilitate, where appropriate, individual and group research development.
