The EdUHK accords high importance to hall life education and regards this as an integral part of university study. All first year full-time students on a UGC-funded undergraduate programme would be offered guaranteed hall residency for 2 semesters, one of which to be taken up during the first year of study. Full-time research postgraduate students (RPgs)# and in-bound exchange students with guaranteed hall places will have higher priority for allocation by randomized sequence of student lists.
Remaining hall places will be allocated to UGC-funded full-time undergraduate students and other UGC-funded full-time students according to the Hall Point System.
[# As approved by the Student Affairs Committee at its meeting held on 1 December 2022, effective from the 2023-24 intake, RPg students who fail to graduate within the normative study period will NOT be eligible for hall applications.]
Priority for hall place allocation
1. UGC-funded Full-time RPg students and inbound exchange students
2. UGC-funded FT Ug students with 2 hall vouchers
(no. of semester with guaranteed hall residence)
3. UGC-funded FT Ug students with 1 hall voucher
4. UGC-funded FT Ug students without any hall voucher
5. UGC-funded FT PGDE students
6. UGC-funded FT HD(ECE) students
7. Students of self-funded FT UG programmes
