Will Chan, Bachelor of Education (Honours) (English Language), 2018 Graduate
The awardee of the Li Ka Shing Foundation Scholarship for Field Experience in 2017/18
Will was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was studying Primary 3. Sufferers of dyslexia would have difficulties distinguishing letters or alphabets in both Chinese and English.
With enormous and constant efforts and the help from his mother, teachers, speech therapist and tutors, Will overcame his problems and started making great academic improvement during his secondary school period. Against all odds he finally scored 5* for English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination and made him all the way to study the Bachelor of Education in English Language at EdUHK.
Will continued to shine in his undergraduate study and he was awarded the Li Ka Shing Foundation Scholarship for Field Experience in 2017/18 in recognition of his excellent performance in academics and teaching practice.
Will is now a primary school teacher. In the long run, he hopes to devote himself in the education sector as a researcher to design teaching materials for the ethnic minorities and students with special needs. He is currently studying a master degree in HK.
