iAmbassador Programme

The iAmbassador Programme is a platform for students to organize activities which promote internationalization and cultural integration. The iAbmassadors will be able to promote their home culture to members of the university. The programme consists of three parts: 1) Training sessions on topics such as intercultural learning, project management and cultural tours to increase iAmbassadors’ skills to organize activities; 2) Activities: iAmbassadors will implement cultural activities that initiated by them; 3) A study tour to deepen iAmbassadors’ understanding of cultural diversity.

International Service Leadership Programme (ISLP) to Ethiopia

International Service Leadership Programme (ISLP) is designed for students enriching their cultural sensitivity, concerning humanitarian issues and strengthening their service leadership skills. The Programme is launched with the partnership of Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC). Students who participate the Programme will plan, design and organize a humanitarian services tour to Ethiopia with the support and advice by the professional staff of the EdUHK and Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC).

Eligibility: Senior year students with skills/experiences in leading service tour or initiating self-organized service tour.  (Example of eligible students include LEAD programme mentors, SEGA participants and etc.)

Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) Programme

In order to prepare our students to be socially care leader with essential cultural competency and generic skills, Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) Programme has been launched since 2007-08 to adopt the “train-the-trainer” approach in which a group of outstanding students who have experienced once in the LEAD Programme as mentees will be recruited as mentors to lead the new participants (i.e. mentees) to conduct the 2-week or 4-week workcamp in the developing countries during Christmas, Easter and Summer holiday break.

The developing countries include Cambodia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Service Exposure for Global Awareness (SEGA) Programme

Service Exposure for Global Awareness (SEGA) Programme is designed to offer the opportunities to students to explore and make comparison of the social problems and issues in Hong Kong and some other developed countries in Asia, such as Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. Student will be given the opportunity to conduct community services in Hong Kong and in one of the mentioned countries through a service tour. After completing the 50-hour community services, students will form in groups and present their proposal of the service tour in second semester. They can select their interested service area to study and design an 8 to 10-day service-tour to be conducted in May 2018.

Summer Community Outreach Programme (COP) to Indonesia

Community Outreach Program (COP) is an inter-discipline educational activity to provide students the opportunities to live in rural areas of Indonesia to experience local culture as well as work with local and international volunteers to address the service needs and build a better Indonesia community.

Armenia House Building Service Trip 

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity Armenia, students will renovate houses for the local community, alongside with partner families, members of the host families and host community. Awareness about the burden for poverty housing in Armenia for students will be aroused.
