From 28 October to 2 November 2025, a delegation of 12 students led by Prof. Christina Yu, Head of the Resource Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies and Experiential Learning (RCISEL), embarked on an educational and cultural study tour to Tokyo, Japan.

The programme included visits to Tokyo Gakugei University, one of Japan’s leading national institutions for teacher training, where students attended lectures, observed classrooms, and experienced the university’s vibrant campus culture. They also visited the Special Education School and International Secondary School affiliated with Tokyo Gakugei University, gaining insights into inclusive education and multilingual teaching, as well as exploring the development of a global perspective. At Asaka Dai-ichi Primary School, students observed classroom practices, explored the school’s culture, and shared lunch with local pupils after touring the Central Kitchen for school lunch, experiencing Japan’s renowned school lunch system firsthand.

The trip provided students with a broad view of Japan’s innovations in education, technology, media, and the arts, deepening their understanding of the education system and its integration with modern technologies. It also enhanced their intercultural communication and global awareness, broadening their perspectives.
